La Heredia
La Heredia actually existed before Pernilla Wahlgren (Swedish artist) bought her Casa Rosa;), but of course many Swedes have opened their eyes to this enormously cute little village, much thanks to her.
10 minutes from the coast, the colorful houses climb up along the mountain wall, below, the road leads to beautiful Ronda. In front are the beautiful golf course Los Arqueros and on the horizon you see the Mediterranean and on clear days Africa and Gibraltar - an incredibly beautiful view day and night!
The picturesque Pueblo was the vision of Francisco Parlade in the early 1980s whose dream was to create a village that would be admired and leave visitors wondering how many centuries it had stood. Thus, La Heredia was created in an authentic Andalusian style with winding cobblestone streets, squares, viewpoints and over 200 unique properties with antique doors from Ronda and wrought iron railings.
The urbanization has two communal pools, one of which is heated during the winter months.
A couple of cozy restaurants, bakery / delicacy that also offers light lunch, a very good Dutch butcher who also has a very nice selection of wines.
The cohesion and community comes mainly from the joint chat group but also through the very popular quiz nights at the local pub. Where they have now also taken in Swedish sports channels on general request.
Straight down you come to cozy San Pedro which is an old charming fishing village, with a lovely Spanish atmosphere and lots of different tapas bars, restaurants and nice shops. The promenade also lives all year round and if you want you can walk / bike to Puerto Banus along the sea. It is a beautiful and nice stretch and you want to be able to continue into Marbella along the Golden Mile. In the future, it will also be possible to walk / cycle in the other direction to Estepona, but some parts are not yet ready for this nice beach walk that will run along the entire Sun Coast from La Duquesa to Nerja, 180 km long.
